When you add up all the millions of chargers/transformers that are left plugged in all the time, it really adds up. And, it's the fact that it's easy to do and every effort counts. And the compounding effect of everyone being conscious of the usage will make a huge difference... EW

It is a terrific idea to turn the lights off when you leave the room. It saves money AND it is better for the environment. But those little transformers don't use much juice. Does anyone have any actual data about the estimated usage?
